“Hi, my name is Matt Weaver.  My wife and I were lucky to a find a beautiful home in Maine leaving the natural gas fracking of our native Pennsylvania.  Before medicine I worked and studied in the forest products industry.  Witnessing injuries and the insufficient care of them, I was compelled to enter medicine hoping to effect positive change.  Initially I started my medical career in primary care, but entered hospital medicine to accommodate some of life’s changes.  Now I am ready to return to primary care medicine.

I still use my forestry background to manage our woodlot.  I am an avid woodworker, but have learned that turning this interest into a profession takes the fun out of it.  My wife Lena is a passionate horse person.  Her enthusiasm has blessed me as well with these marvelous creatures.
  

Due to our modern science, the field of medicine grows more and more complex.  This can be a blessing, however, working in hospital medicine I have come to realize that there needs to be a conductor of this knowledge or else it is for not.  I look forward to meeting you and hope my experiences will help you on your journey.”
